![]() Like, are you playing a Real Housewife? Because I’ve got news for you - RuPaul doesn’t give a s–t about a Real Housewife. There is no studio audience, it’s all about Ru, and that comes down to your character choice. “It’s so important to remember that it’s not really about being funny to the world - you have an audience of one human being, and his name is RuPaul. Like Blu Hydrangea as Austin Powers is a great example of that. If you have a character that constantly wants something, and is always looking to f–k somebody in that room, then you have an intention behind everything you’re doing. ![]() That’s really funny! Or Tatianna as Britney Spears - she made her a little sluttier, ditzier, and that’s why it worked! Even think of Chad Michaels as Cher - she took Cher and made her so pissed off that she was booked on this horrible, preposterous, fake game show. So right there, it’s all about taking something like that and then being ready to switch it up. So, my Mae West, for example - Mae West never really said, ‘Why don’t you come on up and f–k me in the ass sometime,’ she said, ‘Why don’t you come on up and see me sometime.’ But that’s not really that funny, so I took it and turned it into gay sex. You have to take those little catchphrases and sayings a person says, and then go ahead and one-up them. Jimbo (left) won on season 8 for her portrayal of Shirley Temple (right), becoming the sixth contestant to win the challenge twice.“Here is something that’s key - do not do an exact impersonation of a person. ![]() Contestants of RuPaul's Drag Race and their imitations Loosey LaDuca (left) won on season 15 for her portrayal of Joan Rivers (right). Two queens, Gia Gunn and Onyx Unleashed, have been eliminated more than once for their Snatch Game performances. Seven queens have won the Snatch Game more than once: BenDeLaCreme, Ginger Minj, Baga Chipz, Jinkx Monsoon, Trinity the Tuck, Jimbo, and Hannah Conda. However, some seasons have also used members of the show's regular production team, such as Michelle Visage, Ross Mathews, Carson Kressley, Rhys Nicholson or members of the Pit Crew, in lieu of outside guests. The challenge often brings in celebrity guests who serve as answer providers and sometimes, but not always, also serve as the guest judges of the episode. ![]() Queens cannot choose copyrighted characters, although some have ostensibly impersonated actors while actually basing their portrayal on one of the celebrity's film or television performances. Several contestants have chosen to impersonate other people directly associated with the show, such as other past or present contestants, Michelle Visage, or RuPaul. īecause they are drag queens, the show's contestants typically impersonate women, although there have been several instances of contestants choosing male celebrities whose public images were sufficiently flamboyant to fit in with a drag aesthetic. Usually occurring about halfway through each Drag Race season, Snatch Game is commonly perceived as one of the most important and memorable challenges of the show and, in RuPaul's own words, separates "the basic bitches from the fierce-ass queens." Winners of the show are often amongst the top performers in the Snatch Game, though there are a few exceptions. The Snatch Game typically parodies the game show Match Game (known as Blankety Blank in the UK, Blankety Blanks in Australia, and Jogo dos Pontinhos in Brazil) and is a test of the contestants' skills at celebrity impersonation and improvisational comedy. It has also occurred on RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars since season 2, both seasons of RuPaul's Secret Celebrity Drag Race, and on the Thai, British, Canadian, Dutch, Australian-New Zealand, Spanish, Italian, French, Filipino, Belgian, Swedish, Mexican, Brazilian, and German international installments. Beginning with the second season of the original American series RuPaul's Drag Race, the challenge has taken place on every season since. The Snatch Game is a challenge on the Drag Race reality competition television franchise. Recurring challenge within the Drag Race franchise The Snatch Game as seen in season 10 of RuPaul's Drag Race
